REGISTERED DIETITIAN or "NUTRITIONIST"

Registered Dietitians follow a code of ethics and are regulated by the licensing board, whereas anyone can legally call themselves a “nutritionist”.
Registered Dietitians are nationally certified food and nutrition experts who have:
  • Received their Master’s degree.

  • Completed practice and experience requirements through a program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics.

  • Passed the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)’s national exam.

  • Complete continuing professional educational requirements.

Every Registered Dietitian is a nutritionist, but not every "Nutritionist" is a Registered Dietitian.

Any nutritionist can give you their opinions on what you should eat, when you should eat it, and how to reach your goals. The human body is complex and its performance is significantly enhanced by the nutrients it’s fueled by. Don’t put your performance in the hands of someone’s opinions. Trust evidence-backed nutrition recommendations from a Registered Dietitian.
